HIFF presents AFCOOP 40th anniversary screenings – Friday, June 6th at 7pm and 9pm.
The Halifax Independent Filmmakers Festival opens with a retrospective of short films that celebrates the 40th anniversary of AFCOOP. Selected from hundreds of films, the series has been split into two screenings – one of the most recent twenty years, the other spanning the cooperative’s beginnings through the 1980s.

Closing the festival will be another celebratory screening for the Centre For Art Tapes’ own anniversary of 35 years - a perfect addition to the film festival’s observance of the many shared contributions and initiatives of the media arts community and it’s institutions.
