Shorts are no longer not just the warm-up to the main feature, but the main attraction themselves. Exhibition and distribution of shorts have changed and they are still changing. The short form is on the program at festivals, on film, on video, on HD, on TV, on the web, on cellphones, and in six months time:, on something new. Short content is still a calling-card to show off talent to secure a longer project, but shorts are also ends in themselves. What’s Going On? Short Films in the Global Marketplace with Sue Biely is a must for filmmakers who want to learn more about making innovative shorts that will get seen nationally and internationally, this interactive session provides a snapshot of the current short film sector, examines how shorts are green lit, explores the qualities of good short content and much more.
