The Guerrilla Film Lab is an eight week immersion into handcrafted, DIY filmmaking. Make your own film experiment in just eight weeks! Explore the possibilities of what you can create with a do-it-yourself approach and a sense of adventure. With the help of the instructors, participants will shoot 16mm black and white film, hand process and optically manipulate it, screen it and discuss what they’ve created. Expect an intensive and immersive filmmaking experience.
$300 AFCOOP members, $335.00 non-members + $75 materials fee (due first day of class)
Fee includes 6 workshops, 16mm camera rental, film stock, processing, and access to AFCOOP’s optical printing and editing facilities and supplies during the program!

Meet and greet, scheduleing, ideas, feedback session, camera practice, examine films.
DAY 2:
Thursday November 1st, 6pm – 10pm
Camera workshop and alternative shooting techniques with Bolex and Scoopic, examine films.
DAY 3:
Sat. November 3rd, 11am – 4pm
Group Shoot exercises.
DAY 4:
Sun November 4th, 10am – 5pm
Hand processing of negatives, and optical printing!
DAY 5:
Thursday November 15th, 6pm – 10pm
Editing on 16mm film, some editing inspiring films, hand colour film, scratching and other techniques.
DAY 6:
Sun Nov. 25th
Hand-processing day drop in – scheduled times.
DAY 7:
Thursday, December 11th, 6pm -9pm
Screening and feedback, deliver film for transfer, suggestions for sound.
