AFCOOP is one of the nominating partner organizations for Telefilm Canada’s Talent to Watch program, through which multiple micro-budget feature films are produced by emerging Canadian filmmakers each year. In an effort to help prepare people for this year’s application we are running a micro-budget day online this February.
Micro-budget Feature Film Panel
Saturday February 27, 11am – 12:30pm
(Free on Zoom)
Join host Tara Thorne as she leads a panel discussion about micro-budgeting filmmaking in Atlantic Canada, featuring panelists Jillian Acreman (writer/director Queen of the Andes), Heather Young (writer/director Murmur), and Melani Wood (producer Bone Cage).
Micro-budget Story Workshop
Saturday February 27, 1:30pm – 4:30pm
($10/$15 members/non-members on Zoom, limited space)
After listening to the filmmakers on the micro-budget panel talk, why not discuss your own idea for a micro-budget feature? Up to 12 people will be able to attend this session hosted by filmmaker Iain MacLeod, during which potential story ideas will be talked through with production as micro-budget feature films in mind.
